One of Europe's leading dance companies, Phoenix Dance Theatre, has engaged The H2 Company to help it design marketing material for the forthcoming 2008 Spring season.
Phoenix performs across Europe and works with some of the most exciting choreographers in the world including nationally acclaimed Javier De Frutos.
As well as designing their 2008 souvenir tour programme, H2 has produced a range of marketing material including posters, flyers and billboards, for use by theatres across the UK. The dance company is also working with the co writer and composer of the controversial Jerry Springer: The Opera, Richard Thomas, to produce a new dance / music collaboration called Cattle Call.
It looks at the whole process of auditioning. H2 has been asked to design and brand the marketing material for the production this Spring. H2 won the Phoenix account in a three way pitch. To discover more about Phoenix visit their web site at www.phoenixdancetheatre.co.uk.

Recently H2 director Phil Byrne handed over his car keys and headed off into the Leeds sunset and life without a car. The last time Phil lived car-less he was a carefree 19 year old philosophy student at Leeds University - unfortunately he wouldn't share any photos! So, what enticed our least office bound director to contemplate life without a car? The answer: Whizzgo.
Whizzgo offer pay by the hour cars across a number of UK cities, including vehicles located only a short stroll from H2's offices in Leeds, and Phil's home in York. For the last month Phil has been testing the service, renting a car whenever he needs one, 24 hours a day and with only a few minutes notice each time. As a result Phil finally handed over his gas guzzling BMW in return for benefits both to his pocket and his carbon karma. Office manager Ann also reminds him of the world of good his daily fresh air strolls are doing him too!

One of the best known companies in the UK security sector has engaged The H2 Company to help re-brand and re-launch the 130 year old firm.
Henry Lewis & Son of Bradford has been trading since 1878 and the sixth generation of the family, Suzanne Smith, has taken the helm following her father's retirement last year.
Now she has plans to re-brand the company and extend the product range as part of an exciting re-launch later this Summer.
H2 will lead the project and work with Suzanne on a range of new sub brands as well as building the new web site, implementing a market research project and running a strategic branding workshop to support the process.

You may think that the use of logos and brands to define companies & products is a recent thing - if you do you are wrong!
The word logo is derived from the ancient Greek "logos", meaning 'an eternal and unchanging truth', and first appeared around 6000BC as a mark of personal ownership, preceding written language by about 3,000 years.
Merchants' marks first appeared as a way of identifying products when distribution of goods became more prevalent, and this was followed by farmers putting their own marks on cattle (the origin of the word "brand"). In the 13th century even paper makers introduced 'watermarks' into the fibres of paper stock.
Brands and logos first began to be used in the sense we now know during the industrial revolution, when centrally produced distribution of goods became widespread and producers needed to identify their stock.
Logos became known and recognised by buyers and, eventually, associated with the quality or expectation of products; modern branding was born!
So we can honestly say that branding is an ancient art. If you want to discuss your brand then ring H2 on 08700 503 574 or e-mail us on info@theh2.co.uk.
